Responding to demands from football manager Bobby Motaung for a return to silverware, Da Cruz stated that rebuilding the club into title contenders requires patience and realistic expectations, noting that he cannot guarantee specific trophies before the work on the pitch is completed.

Additionally, Da Cruz expressed his continued support for captain and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen following several costly errors this season, including mistakes in the MTN8 and recent matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Richards Bay FC. Despite the errors, Da Cruz emphasized that he trusts Petersen 100 percent, citing the goalkeeper's ability to win points for the team in previous seasons and stating that the team's game model will remain unchanged.
