Kaizer Chiefs reaffirm support for coach Fernando Da Cruz

Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Junior has issued a statement reaffirming full support for head coach Fernando Da Cruz and his technical team following the club’s early exit from the CAF Confederation Cup. The team was eliminated after a penalty shootout loss to Red Arrows, following a 1-1 aggregate draw over two legs.

Despite the continental exit and recent scrutiny regarding the team’s domestic form—having secured only three Betway Premiership victories in their opening eight matches—the club stated that Da Cruz maintains their trust. The leadership emphasized their commitment to the long-term football philosophy and development pathway currently being implemented at the club.

In related team news, head coach Da Cruz addressed the limited playing time of midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo. Da Cruz clarified that there is no conflict between the player and the club, attributing the lack of starts to high competition for positions within the squad.
