Kaizer Chiefs coach remains optimistic despite recent draw

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz maintains that his team is moving in the right direction despite a recent 1-1 draw against Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership. While Lebohang Maboe scored for the Soweto giants, an own goal by Brandon Petersen resulted in the teams sharing the spoils at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Da Cruz noted that while the team is performing well in certain aspects, they need to be more clinical in both penalty areas. He emphasized the importance of the squad continuing to trust the process.

Additionally, coach Da Cruz addressed the limited playing time of Tanzanian international Adolf Mtasingwa. Since joining the club in July, Mtasingwa has made only three appearances. The coach attributed this to the player's late arrival during the pre-season, stating that Mtasingwa needs more time to adapt to the South African game model. Da Cruz expressed confidence in the player and expects him to see more minutes following the FIFA break.
