Kaizer Chiefs lose 1–0 to Red Arrows in CAF Confederation Cup first leg

Kaizer Chiefs suffered a 1–0 defeat to Zambian side Red Arrows FC in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary-round tie. The match, held at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, was decided in the 76th minute when Alassane Diarra scored from a corner following a header by Ackim Mumba.

The loss comes amid mounting pressure on Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz, as the club struggles with inconsistent form across competitions. The defeat marks the team's second loss of the season, adding scrutiny to Da Cruz's leadership as the club seeks to re-establish its continental standing.

Chiefs must overturn the one-goal deficit in the return leg, which is scheduled for Friday, 23 October, at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Da Cruz has called for unity among players, staff, and supporters to reverse the result and secure a place in the group stages.
