Kaja Shukova criticizes government over rising living costs in North Macedonia

Kaja Shukova, president of the SDSM Women's Forum, has criticized the current government for failing to address the declining standard of living in North Macedonia. During an appearance on ‘24 Analiza’, Shukova argued that citizens are receiving empty promises instead of concrete economic and social measures.

Shukova highlighted the disparity between wages and the cost of living, noting that the minimum wage is 26,000 denars, while the basic consumer basket costs nearly 70,000 denars, and living with rent requires approximately 90,000 denars. She stated that even two minimum wages combined do not cover the basic cost of living.

Furthermore, Shukova criticized the opposition party, VMRO, for failing to deliver on pre-election promises regarding political reforms, de-partyization of public administration, and anti-corruption efforts. She contrasted current conditions with social measures implemented during the SDSM administration, such as child and education allowances and energy crisis assistance.
