Kakao Games to launch ‘World of Dokkaebi’ MMORPG on October 8

Kakao Games is set to launch its new MMORPG, ‘World of Dokkaebi’, on October 8 at 11:00 AM. Developed by Supercat and based on the Naver web novel and webtoon ‘Myeolguisudojeon’, the game features 2.5D graphics that combine 2D dot characters with 3D backgrounds to create a retro yet immersive aesthetic inspired by Korean traditional folklore.

The game distinguishes itself from traditional fantasy MMORPGs by utilizing a Korean-themed worldview and an AI-driven growth support system. A proprietary AI chatbot named ‘Myorong’ analyzes player data, such as hunting records and resource consumption, to provide personalized guidance on growth and gameplay direction, aiming to lower the entry barrier for new players.

Combat mechanics allow players to freely combine 12 different skill styles rather than selecting a fixed class. Additionally, Kakao Games has announced pre-download availability for PC and mobile platforms and is offering significant discounts for PC users via Google Play Games to celebrate the launch.
