Kakao selects 12 Gangwon F&B businesses for brand growth project

Kakao has selected 12 local food and beverage (F&B) businesses from Gangwon Province to participate in its ‘Project Dangol’ initiative. The program aims to transform local shops into national brands by strengthening their brand competitiveness and expanding their sales channels both online and offline.

Through a competitive selection process involving 312 applicants, the 12 businesses were chosen based on their regionality, brand story, and growth potential. Kakao will provide customized support to each selected business through December, with benefits valued at up to 100 million KRW per store.

Specific support measures include product planning consulting, training in online commerce and AI utilization, and entry into Kakao’s commerce services such as ‘Talk Deal’ and ‘Makers’. Additionally, businesses will receive marketing opportunities including influencer collaborations, pop-up stores at department stores and festivals, and support for KakaoTalk channel messaging.
