Kalaburagi begins door-to-door verification for Gruhalakshmi Scheme
The Karnataka state government has initiated a door-to-door verification process in Kalaburagi to ensure that the monthly 2,000 rupee Gruhalakshmi Scheme assistance reaches only eligible beneficiaries.
Rajakumar Rathod, Deputy Director of the Kalaburagi Women and Child Development Department, stated that the initiative aims to prevent funds from being credited to ineligible individuals or deceased persons. To ensure transparency, teams comprising Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, and local government staff will conduct the surveys alongside Guarantee Committee members.
During the verification, beneficiaries are required to provide documents including Aadhaar cards, ration cards, voter IDs, and bank account details. The process will utilize mobile applications featuring facial authentication and GPS-tagged photos to maintain accuracy. In cases where houses are locked, beneficiaries can complete biometric authentication at nearby service centers such as Gram One or Karnataka One.
