Kalaburagi honors community heritage and literary achievements

In Kalaburagi, Karnataka, several cultural and community milestones were recognized. During a Vishwakarma Jayanti celebration, MLA Allam Prabhu Patil praised the Vishwakarma community for their artistic contributions to historical sites such as Hampi, Pattadakal, and Aihole. To support community infrastructure, Patil pledged 25 lakh rupees from his own funds and aims to raise a total of 50 lakh rupees through contributions from other legislators.

Separately, Dr. Suryakanta S. Sujath has been honored with the Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati annual award for his significant achievements in multilingual knowledge, literature, and translation. Sujath has been recognized for translating various works from Marathi and Hindi into Kannada, including titles such as ‘Gadage Maharaja’ and ‘Diksha’. Speakers at a felicitation ceremony at Gulbarga University noted that his work brings diverse intellectual literature to Kannada readers, representing a major achievement for the Kalyana Karnataka literary region.
