Kalaburagi officials ordered to verify Gruha Lakshmi beneficiaries

Kalaburagi District Collector Ikram Sharif has directed officials to ensure that the benefits of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme reach all eligible women. To prevent exclusion due to technical issues, Aadhaar linking errors, or documentation lapses, a re-verification process will be conducted. A joint team comprising Anganwadi workers, ASHA staff, and Gram Panchayat Development Officers will perform door-to-door inspections using a mobile application equipped with Aadhaar-based face recognition and GPS mapping.

In the district, approximately 5.97 lakh beneficiaries are registered, with over 4,000 crore rupees transferred to bank accounts over the last 36 months. Officials have been instructed to maintain transparency by identifying and excluding ineligible applicants while ensuring those in need, such as families without other sources of income following a death, are supported.

Additionally, Collector Sharif emphasized the proper utilization of Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) and Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) funds. He instructed officials to ensure that departmental action plans are implemented without delay and that funds are not carried over to subsequent quarters. Currently, out of 11,922.13 lakh rupees released, 10,709.43 lakh rupees have been utilized.
