Kalakote infrastructure projects receive major boost in Rajouri
Infrastructure development is expanding in the Kalakote subdivision of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir. Various projects are currently underway to improve facilities for students, government employees, and the general public.
Vikas Gupta, Assistant Executive Engineer for Roads and Buildings (R&B) in Kalakote, confirmed that active projects include school and higher education buildings, ward roads, and Central Road Fund (CRF) roads. A tendering process for municipal works is also expected to begin shortly. Specific projects include an ETT building valued at Rs 1.40 crore, a Power Development Department (PDD) building valued at Rs 184 lakh, and a single-classroom unit costing Rs 7.47 lakh. Additionally, a veterinary hospital building has been completed.
Local residents have expressed support for the new constructions, noting that existing school facilities have suffered from issues such as leaking roofs and broken windows. Authorities have issued notices to contractors to expedite works as rainfall subsides to ensure projects are completed and handed over promptly.
