Kalamaria: Woman trapped inside EOPYY building

A 26-year-old woman was trapped inside an EOPYY pharmacy building in Kalamaria on Friday afternoon. The woman, identified as Xenia, arrived at approximately 13:20 to collect urgent injectable medications for a friend suffering from an autoimmune disease, noting that online operating hours indicated the facility would remain open until 14:30.

After searching the upper floors for staff, she returned to the ground floor only to find that the doors had been locked, leaving her stuck inside. Both the Fire Service and the Police responded to her call for help, but they were initially unable to force the locks because the building is a public service facility.

The woman was eventually released after approximately 90 minutes when the director of EFKA arrived at the scene. Despite the ordeal, she was unable to obtain the necessary medications for her friend.
