Kalamata adds four signings as Black Storm rebuilds squad
Greek football club PAE Kalamata announced four new player acquisitions ahead of the upcoming season. The club secured a 28‑year‑old Brazilian centre‑back, Rodrigo, who has over 230 top‑level appearances and titles with Grêmio, and has also played in Latin America and the United States. It also signed 25‑year‑old Argentine midfielder Gonzalo Piniéiro, a product of Estudiantes who won the Argentine Cup and featured in the Copa Libertadores. Senegalese winger Djibril Diarra, 22, arrived from the renowned Generation Foot academy after three seasons in Belgium with Seregn, and was part of the 2023 African U‑20 Championship‑winning side. Finally, 23‑year‑old Spanish left‑footed midfielder Yutzin Frimpong, trained at Valladolid and experienced with Zamora and Ponferradina, joined to add creativity on the left flank. All four players are expected to strengthen Kalamata’s defence and midfield as the team prepares for the new campaign.
