Kalamata Municipality conducts school infrastructure upgrades
The Municipality of Kalamata is conducting extensive maintenance and upgrade works across various educational facilities to ensure safe and functional environments for the upcoming school year. These projects are being carried out through municipal technical services and external contractors, as well as through the ‘Marietta Giannoukou’ program.
Key interventions include insulation, painting, and repairs to hygiene facilities and courtyards. Specific projects involve the Paralía Gymnasium, where work will address courtyard subsidence and the installation of a synthetic turf pitch. Other ongoing works include renovations at EPAL, the 4th, 6th, and 3rd Gymnasiums, and the 5th Lyceum.
In kindergartens and primary schools, works include roof replacements, tiling, and the construction of drainage networks. Mayor Thanasis Vasilopoulos and Deputy Mayor Dimitris Mastrangelopoulos have been inspecting sites, including the Verga Child Center and several primary schools, to oversee the progress of these essential infrastructure improvements.
