Kalamata special education school faces hygiene crisis

The People's Rally political faction in Kalamata has issued a formal complaint regarding hazardous sanitary conditions at the Unified Special Vocational Gymnasium-Lyceum (ENEEGYL). The group reports that the school's boiler room, located adjacent to a classroom, has remained flooded for an extended period, likely due to rainfall from approximately one month ago.

According to the complaint, the stagnant water has created a breeding ground for mosquitoes, posing health and safety risks to approximately 60 students with disabilities and special educational needs, as well as 20 educators. The faction is demanding that the municipal authorities take immediate action to pump out the water, disinfect and pest-control the area, and identify the source of the flooding to prevent recurrence. They have also called for a comprehensive inspection of the school's infrastructure to ensure a safe learning environment.
