Kalamata to host AI workshops for Messenia businesses

A two-day initiative titled ‘AI in Practice: From Theory to Application’ will take place in Kalamata on October 2 and 3, 2026. The program aims to enhance the competitiveness and digital transformation of businesses in the Messenia region.

The event includes an informational evening at the Messenia Chamber of Commerce followed by three in-person workshops. Supported by the Captain Vassilis and Carmen Konstantakopoulou Foundation, the program is implemented by the AI Group AICatalyst under the auspices of the Messenia Chamber of Commerce and in collaboration with the non-profit organization Mataroa.

To accommodate professionals unable to attend in person due to limited seating, nine hours of remote workshops will be held every Wednesday through the end of November 2026. These sessions focus on the practical application of artificial intelligence within business operations.

Artificial intelligence functions as a mechanism of statistical and computational power, utilizing data collection, pattern recognition through training, and inference to make decisions or generate content. The technology encompasses machine learning and deep learning, which uses neural networks to power modern chatbots and autonomous systems.
