Kalashnikov Group showcases new rifles and drones in South Africa

The Kalashnikov Group is showcasing its latest military developments at an international defense exhibition in Pretoria, South Africa, held from September 16 to 20. The display features new compact assault rifles, specifically the AK-15K and AK-19K models, which are designed for special forces or units operating in close-quarters environments. The AK-15K utilizes traditional 7.62x39mm ammunition.

In addition to small arms, the company is introducing the KUB-2E kamikaze drone to international customers. This drone has reportedly been tested during military operations in Ukraine. Other showcased technologies include the RUS-PE mobile reconnaissance and attack system, the SKAT 350 M civilian drone, and various small arms such as the AK-203, AK-204, Chukavin sniper rifles, and Lebedev pistols.

Kalashnikov CEO Alan Lushnikov noted that these weapons have undergone successful battlefield testing and expressed interest in expanding exports to markets across Africa, Asia, and South America.
