Kalavryta hosts members of the Eftychia Project

Members of the ‘Eftychia Project’ visited Kalavryta as part of the group’s 5th annual meeting for Greek adoptees. During the visit, the group toured the Kalavryta Execution Site and met with the Mayor of Kalavryta, Thanasis Papadopoulos.

The Eftychia Project was founded by Eftychia Noula, who was raised in Texas, USA, as Linda Carol Trotter. After successfully locating her biological mother in 2017, Noula established the organization to help other Greek adoptees reconnect with their biological roots and heritage.

Mayor Papadopoulos emphasized the importance of the project, noting that for the thousands of Greek children adopted during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, reconnecting with their biological families helps fulfill a deep need to understand their identity and connection to their homeland. The group’s broader tour of Greece included stops in Athens, Thessaloniki, Vergina, Meteora, Metsovo, Ioannina, Arta, and Messolonghi.
