Kalbadjar hosts Honey Festival to promote regional development

The Honey Festival was held in the Kalbadjar district on September 12, initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union. The event was organized jointly by the IDEA Public Union, the Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in Kalbadjar, the Ministry of Agriculture, ‘Agric Supply and Provision’ JSC, and the Azerbaijan Beekeepers Association.

Attendees included members of the accredited diplomatic corps, government officials, and local residents. Prior to the festival, the delegation toured ongoing construction projects in the region. Bashir Hajiyev, the President's special representative, provided information to diplomats regarding large-scale restoration, reconstruction, and improvement works being carried out in Kalbadjar following its liberation. These efforts focus on creating modern infrastructure, ensuring socio-economic development, and rebuilding villages and towns to facilitate the return of the population to their ancestral lands.

The festival aims to promote Azerbaijani honey through geographical branding, support local beekeepers, and expand access to domestic and foreign markets. Additionally, the event seeks to promote tourism in Kalbadjar by highlighting its history, nature, and highlands through agro-tourism, eco-tourism, and rural tourism.
