KALBEN Children's Village hosts summer workshops in Balıkesir

The KALBEN Children's Village project on Ekinlik Island in Balıkesir is providing summer activities for children under state protection. The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the KALBEN Association, aims to help children develop social skills and experience nature through various workshops.

During a recent visit, Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş participated in activities with children, including succulent planting, pot painting, friendship bracelet making, and tartlet decorating. The Minister noted that approximately 650 children have benefited from these programs throughout the summer, participating in three-week camps involving academic, artistic, and nature-based activities.

As part of a collaborative social responsibility effort, the flour producer Sinangil organized a specialized pastry workshop for children aged 7 to 12. Led by professional pastry chefs, the workshop allowed children to learn basic pastry and tart-making skills. Hasan Abdullah Özkan, CEO of Eksun Food Group, emphasized that such projects serve as a valuable investment in society by helping children discover their potential and build self-confidence.
