Kali Malone announces new album ‘Burning Song’

Composer and organist Kali Malone has announced her new album, ‘Burning Song’, scheduled for release on October 30 via Ideologic Organ. The announcement includes the release of the lead single, ‘Heavy With Fruit’.

Recorded at the historic Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Germany, the album marks a milestone as Malone is the first musician to perform contemporary works on the church’s Bach organ. The new work moves away from the strict canonical forms that characterized much of her previous organ music, opting for a more intuitive and gradual compositional process centered on themes of transformation and perception.

Malone is joined on the album by cellist Lucy Railton and Stephen O’Malley, who performs on bowed acoustic guitar. The upcoming release follows her 2024 album ‘All Life Long’ and includes a series of scheduled performances across Europe, including dates in Lisbon, Cologne, Bern, Bratislava, and London.
