Kalimantan authorities respond to forest and land fires

Authorities in Kalimantan are responding to ongoing forest and land fires (karhutla) across several regions. In Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, the Ministry of Public Works has deployed equipment and water supplies to assist in firefighting efforts. Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that the deployment is part of the government's preparedness to maintain basic services during such conditions. In Kampung Batu-batu, approximately five hectares were burned, with 2.5 hectares successfully extinguished.

In Central Kalimantan, the provincial government is providing relief to residents in Barito Utara affected by the fires and resulting haze. Vice Governor Edy Pratowo distributed 2,000 food packages, 1,000 masks, and 500 vitamin tablets to impacted communities. Additionally, the Huma Betang Sejahtera Card was distributed to 7,664 beneficiaries to support welfare during the emergency.
