Kalitta Motorsports sweeps NHRA Northwest Nationals, Todd wins Funny Car

At the 37th annual Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle, Doug Kalitta secured his second straight Top Fuel victory, completing a Kalitta Motorsports nitro sweep. Teammate J.R. Todd broke a 23‑race winless streak to claim his first Funny Car win of 2026, moving to third in the points standings. Greg Anderson won the Pro Stock class and regained the points lead. The event was the 12th of 20 races in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and tightened the professional points battles heading into the final regular‑season outings before the Countdown to the Championship. Kalitta posted dominant runs, including a 3.669‑second pass at 338.43 mph, and closed the gap to teammate Shawn Langdon to within five points in the regular‑season championship race.
