Kallithea, Greece – 27‑year‑old motorcyclist killed in fatal crash

A motorcyclist in his late twenties was killed in a severe traffic collision on Thiseos Avenue in Kallithea, a suburb of Athens, in early June. Witnesses said the rider was traveling at high speed when a 71‑year‑old woman stepped onto the pedestrian crossing; the motorcyclist attempted to avoid her, lost control, and struck a fixed obstacle, causing an instant death. The woman sustained injuries and was taken to the General State Hospital of Nikaia for treatment.

Video footage of the incident has circulated, showing the force of the impact and the rider being thrown a considerable distance. Police are conducting a pre‑investigation, reviewing security‑camera recordings to determine the exact circumstances of the crash. The local community in Zachirolitika and surrounding villages is in mourning, holding funerals for the young victim.

Authorities continue to examine all evidence to clarify responsibility and prevent similar accidents in the future.
