Kallithea: Old Poseidonos Avenue to reopen after bridge construction

The Municipality of Kallithea has announced that a section of Old Poseidonos Avenue will reopen to traffic on Monday, August 10. The reopened stretch extends from Thiseos Avenue to Kapodistriou Street.

The reopening follows the completion of construction projects involving a new road bridge over the Ilissos River and a parallel bridge designed for public utility networks. With the road's return to service, all temporary traffic regulations in the area will be lifted, and traffic signaling at the Ilissos River level will become fully operational.

According to local authorities, these works are part of the broader Ilissos River management projects. The infrastructure is intended to provide critical flood protection for the area, improve water runoff, and resolve long-standing issues regarding safety and accessibility for both drivers and pedestrians.
