Kallithea police raid illegal casino, making six arrests
Police in Kallithea conducted a raid on an illegal casino operating unauthorized slot-machine-style games via computers. The operation, carried out on Monday, August 31, resulted in six arrests.
Authorities reported that the temporary manager was operating on behalf of an owner who was not present at the time of the arrest. The illegal activity involved two women—one acting as a game organizer and another as a waitress—while three other detainees were participating in the games. The establishment had also installed security cameras without the required permits and featured an entrance designed to hinder or delay police inspections.
During the raid, officers seized a significant amount of electronic equipment, including one server, 52 computer units, 53 monitors, 43 keyboards, 12 wireless cameras, and 680 euros in cash. The Hellenic Police noted that this specific location had previously been investigated by the Financial Crimes Unit in connection with a criminal organization involved in unauthorized online gambling platforms.
