Kallpa issues renewable energy certificates to 21 companies

Kallpa, a leading electricity generation company in Peru, has issued I-REC renewable energy certificates to 21 companies for their 2025 consumption. These certificates, managed by the International Renewable Energy Certificate mechanism, validate that 2.4 million MWh of energy used by these firms originated from 100% renewable and sustainable sources.

Participating companies include major entities such as Compañía Minera Antapaccay, Minera Yanacocha, Gold Fields La Cima, and Mondelez Perú, among others. The certification allows these organizations to officially account for reductions in their carbon footprints and meet sustainable development goals.

Kallpa reported a total renewable energy production of 5,869.65 GWh during 2025, a volume that prevented the emission of approximately 1.3 million tons of CO2. The company currently holds an installed capacity of 2.6 GW, supplying roughly 22% of the Peruvian electricity market demand.
