Kalmar reclaims title of Sweden’s longest bench

Kalmar has reclaimed the title of having Sweden’s longest bench after extending the Gustav Vasa-bänken by nearly 30 meters. The bench now measures 299 meters along Kalmarsund.

The competition for the record has involved several Swedish locations, including Hjo and Karlskrona, over several years. Hjo previously held the title with a 270-meter bench. The extension in Kalmar is part of a project by Destination Kalmar and Kalmar municipality to create eye-catching urban environments that encourage social gatherings.
