Kaloré resident victimized by remote mobile banking fraud
A resident of Kaloré, Paraná, fell victim to a banking fraud after their mobile device was accessed remotely. The incident, reported on August 21, 2026, involved unauthorized Pix transfers and digital platform breaches.
The victim reported that the smartphone began performing operations autonomously, triggering multiple notifications for unauthorized financial transfers. Upon checking their Sicredi bank account, the individual confirmed a loss of R$ 661.00. Additionally, the attackers accessed the victim's Mercado Pago account, resulting in an unauthorized withdrawal of R$ 1,050.00.
The total financial loss from the criminal action is estimated at R$ 1,711.00. A police report for fraud was officially registered with the Military Police, and the case has been forwarded to the Civil Police for investigation.
