Kaloyan Danchev donates 100,000 EUR to Andrey Gyurov campaign

Multimillionaire Kaloyan Danchev has emerged as the largest donor to the presidential campaign of Andrey Gyurov and Georgi Kandev, contributing 100,000 EUR. This single donation accounts for half of the total 200,000 EUR recorded in the National Audit Office register.

Danchev, who owns luxury resorts in Mexico, maintains close ties to the Petkov family. He is a business partner of Linda Petkova in the newly formed Elite Estates Group, which focuses on investing in innovative health applications. Additionally, Danchev and Kiril Petkov are reportedly involved in a business venture focused on high-tech combat drones using artificial intelligence, with plans to potentially establish a manufacturing plant in Bulgaria in cooperation with a Ukrainian manufacturer.

Other contributors to the Gyurov campaign include several Democratic Bulgaria MPs. Jipo Djipov and his wife donated 15,000 EUR, while Ivaylo Mirchev and Bozhidar Bozhanov each contributed 5,000 EUR. Various other deputies provided smaller donations of 1,000 EUR. While Gyurov and Kandev currently hold second place in sociological polls for the presidency, their campaign leads in total funds raised.
