Kalpaki hosts 7th ‘Road of Victory’ running event

Registrations have opened for the 7th ‘Road of Victory’ running event in Kalpaki, organized by the Municipality of Pogoni. Scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, the event is part of the ‘KALPAKIA’ commemorative celebrations.

The competition features four distinct races: a 21 km half-marathon, a 9 km run, a 4.2 km vertical run, and a 1,000-meter race for children. The start and finish lines will be located at the central square of Kalpaki, in front of the Municipality building. The routes will pass through several sites of historical and natural significance, including the Kalama River, the ‘Machitis’ Hill, and Vellass Monastery.

Mayor Konstantinos Kapsalis stated that the event has become an established institution of national honor and athletic ideals, serving as an expression of respect for the heroes of the 1940 campaign. Technical Director Evangelos Tsimaris noted that the event combines high athletic standards with a route of unique natural and historical wealth.
