Kalshi partners with compliance firm Comply amid New York lawsuit
Kalshi has entered a partnership with compliance‑technology provider Comply to integrate its contract‑data feed into Comply’s regulatory platform. The integration will let banks, asset managers and other regulated firms monitor employee trades in prediction markets alongside equities, bonds, futures and cryptocurrencies, creating pre‑clearance rules and audit‑ready case management.
The partnership comes as New York Attorney General Letitia James sued Kalshi on July 31, alleging the exchange operates an unlicensed gambling business. The suit seeks a court order to halt the activity, impose fines, forfeit gains and provide restitution to users. State officials have estimated that potential penalties could total up to $36 billion. Kalshi has moved the case to the U.S. Southern District of New York, where Judge Melissa Crane deemed the preliminary injunction request moot.
The move aims to give financial firms a tool to detect conflicts of interest and insider information in employee prediction‑market trading, while Kalshi confronts significant regulatory and financial exposure from the New York lawsuit.
