Kalvakuntla Kavitha demands arrest of police constable

Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of the Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS), has demanded the arrest of a police constable following derogatory comments made about her on social media. While the constable has been suspended, Kavitha argued that suspension is insufficient and called for his dismissal and the filing of formal charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act.

During a press conference in Hyderabad, Kavitha criticized the government and police force for perceived indifference toward online abuse against women. She challenged the Director General of Police regarding the severity of the response and threatened to raise the issue on international platforms if the government fails to take decisive action. Additionally, she urged the state assembly to table a hate speech bill and accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of failing to fulfill previous political promises.
