Kalvin Phillips joins Sheffield United on loan from Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips has returned to Sheffield United on a season-long loan deal. The 30-year-old previously spent the second half of the 2025/26 season at Bramall Lane, though his stint was limited to just three appearances before a knee injury sidelined him for the remainder of that campaign.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder expressed positive interest in bringing the former England international back to the club to secure regular playing time. Phillips, who joined Manchester City from Leeds United in 2022, has seen several loan spells at clubs including West Ham United and Ipswich Town following difficulties establishing himself in the City starting lineup.
