Kalyanpuri: MCD sanitation worker stabbed to death while on duty

A 27-year-old Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) sanitation worker, identified as Anil Kumar, was stabbed to death while performing his duties in the Kalyanpuri area of East Delhi. The attack, which occurred on a Sunday morning, was reportedly captured on CCTV footage. The video appears to show a man in a yellow T-shirt approaching the victim and attacking him with a knife following a brief verbal altercation before fleeing the scene.

The killing has triggered widespread outrage and protests among sanitation workers. Protesters gathered at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrator, compensation for the victim's family, and a government job for a relative. Members of the Delhi Sanitation Workers Union have threatened to shut down auto-tipper operations across the city if their demands are not met.

Political leaders from both the BJP and AAP have condemned the incident. AAP representatives have criticized the local law and order situation, while BJP officials have called for strict legal action against the identified suspect. Delhi Police have formed multiple teams to investigate the murder and are currently analyzing forensic evidence and CCTV recordings to apprehend the attacker.
