Kamala Harris criticizes U.S. handling of Israel-Gaza war
Former Vice President Kamala Harris criticized both the Biden and Trump administrations for failing to use American leverage to curb the Israeli government’s military actions in Gaza. Speaking at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Seoul, South Korea, Harris described the conduct of the Israeli government as ‘horrific.’
Harris argued that the current administration provides Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a ‘blank check,’ while also stating that her own administration should have acted ‘sooner and more forcefully’ to hold Israel accountable. She suggested that the United States has failed in its ‘moral obligation to human rights and international law.’
Her remarks drew reactions from various political figures, including the Republican Jewish Coalition, which described her comments as ‘unsurprising,’ and former campaign worker Warren Kinsella, who expressed shame regarding her statements.
