Kamala Harris responds to Democratic candidates requesting she avoid their campaigns

Kamala Harris is facing resistance from Democratic candidates in several swing states and red states who have requested she distance herself from their midterm campaigns. Candidates in states such as Alaska, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Kansas have expressed concerns that her involvement could negatively impact their electoral prospects, with some citing her California political background as a potential liability in more conservative regions.

In response to reports of this reluctance, Harris stated during an interview on MS NOW that her primary goal is for Democrats to win and to provide a check on the current administration. She noted that individual candidates are best positioned to decide what they need to win and expressed support for their strategic decisions, even if that means she remains off their campaign trails. While questioned about a potential 2028 presidential run, Harris stated she is currently focused on the 2026 election cycle.
