Guinea judicial reshuffle: New appointments across multiple courts

Following a presidential decree issued on October 21, 2026, Guinea is undergoing a significant reorganization of its judicial landscape. This reshuffle has led to several high-profile appointments and transitions across various jurisdictions.

In Conakry, Kaman Théophile Magloire Kouadio has been installed as the new president of the Commercial Court of Conakry, succeeding Sékou Kandé. Meanwhile, the Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses (CRIEF) has seen Mamadou Saliou Diakité take over leadership from Françis Kova Zoumanigui.

Regional changes include Cécé Roger Kolié assuming the role of Public Prosecutor in Kissidougou, replacing Aboubacar Kourouma, who has been promoted to the Court of Appeal in Kankan. Additionally, the judicial apparatus in Fria has been strengthened as the Peace Court was elevated to a Court of First Instance, with new judicial authorities installed.

However, the restructuring has caused procedural challenges in some areas. At the Dixinn Court of First Instance, the mutation of judges, including Mohamed Sangaré, threatens to disrupt ongoing criminal trials, potentially requiring some cases to restart from the beginning due to changes in the required collegial composition of the courts.
