Kamari Wilson joins West Virginia football program

Safety Kamari Wilson has joined the West Virginia University football program following a series of transfers from Florida, Arizona State, and Memphis. Wilson cited the ‘hard edge culture’ and mentality established by head coach Rich Rodriguez as the primary reasons for his decision to move to Morgantown.

Wilson expressed a desire for personal development and a challenging environment, noting that the program’s philosophy aligns with the standards he has lived by since growing up in Fort Pierce, Florida. He also noted that the team's schemes are compatible with his previous playing experience.

A veteran of the transfer portal, Wilson brings significant experience to a West Virginia secondary that lacks returning starters at the third level. He aims to contribute to the defensive unit under Rodriguez and defensive coordinator Zac Alley.
