Kambala and Tulu Nadu tableau to feature in Mysuru Dasara

The traditional buffalo race known as Kambala and a tableau representing Tulu Nadu will be featured in this year’s Mysuru Dasara celebrations, according to Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar. The Chief Minister noted that historical accounts link buffaloes to Dasara celebrations during the Vijayanagara period.

Preparations for the event included a trial run of the Kambala race at a venue near the VTU Regional Centre in Sathagalli. The trial run experienced delays while organizers awaited the arrival of Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai. Following the delay, officials inspected the site and coordinated logistical arrangements, including water supply for spectators and animals, as well as round-the-clock bus services to facilitate travel to the venue.
