Kamen officials discuss new daycare fee structures

The city of Kamen is discussing a new structure for daycare (Kita) fees. A coalition of SPD, Green, and Left parties (Rot-Grün-Rot) is proposing a plan to provide financial relief for low-income families by exempting them from certain payments.

To establish a factual basis for the debate, committee members will attend a joint public session to hear a presentation by Mirja Lange from TU Dortmund. The presentation will cover a study titled ‘Parental contributions for care in daycare facilities in NRW’. This information, along with the implementation of the new Child Education Act (Kibiz), will serve as the foundation for future political decisions regarding childcare costs.
