Kamen Rider Myce series to premiere with Ikuhu Akiya

The new Reiwa Kamen Rider series, ‘Kamen Rider Myce’, is set to premiere on September 6. The story follows Sora Otosumi (played by Ikuhu Akiya), a dedicated butler serving a prestigious family, who transforms into Kamen Rider Myce using an egg-shaped item called ‘Ride Eggs’ to fight mysterious monsters known as ‘Fukashigi’.

In the debut episode, titled ‘Rat! The Meister and the Young Lady’, the protagonist protects high school student Yuna Mizuho. The plot also introduces the ‘Juunishi Alliance’, an organization that has awakened from a 100-year slumber to protect humanity from the monsters.

Lead actor Ikuhu Akiya shared insights into the character’s development, noting that the transformation pose was a collaborative effort between the director, action director, and suit actor. Akiya emphasized that the character possesses a dual nature, balancing a smart, dignified butler persona with a wilder side during combat, often maintaining a relaxed, ‘effortless’ demeanor even in battle.
