Kamenari–Lepetane ferry line generates €30 million for Montenegro

The Kamenari–Lepetane ferry line has generated nearly 30 million euros for the state since it was returned to state management in 2023. Mladen Mikijelj, director of the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management (JPMD), stated that this revenue is nearly eight times higher than the 3.9 million euros paid by the private operator over the previous 20 years.

Revenue figures show approximately 6.3 million euros in 2023, 9 million euros in 2024, and 9.013 million euros in 2025. Since the beginning of 2026, the line has transported 993,000 vehicles, generating over 5.4 million euros in ticket sales, which accounts for about 57 percent of planned annual revenue.

The JPMD has invested roughly 2.5 million euros into the renovation and improvement of the eight ferries, which have a total estimated fleet value of 12 million euros. During the summer season, six ferries operate with a capacity for over 320 vehicles, handling between 8,000 and 11,000 vehicles daily.
