Kameyama City to host onigiri workshop at historic Shindoya residence

A rice ball workshop titled ‘Kabuto no Okome Onigiri Workshop’ is scheduled for September 23, 2026, at Shindoya, a renovated 100-year-old traditional house in Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture.

Participants will learn techniques for cooking rice in clay pots and making onigiri. The event includes a lunch featuring pesticide-free vegetables grown at Kabuto no Mori Farm, served alongside miso soup, side dishes, pickles, and pickled plums. The workshop is divided into two sessions, with a fee of 2,200 yen per person and limited to 10 participants per session.
