KAMİAD develops new cooperation model for public construction sector

The Association of Public Contractors and Businesspeople (KAMİAD) has initiated a new cooperation model to address systemic issues within the public construction sector. Following its 3rd Ordinary General Assembly in May 2026, the association has intensified its engagement with key government institutions to establish regular technical consultation mechanisms.

KAMİAD has joined the Public Procurement Authority’s Construction Works Working Group, where it submitted a report detailing 18 specific field-related challenges faced by contractors. Additionally, the association has held meetings with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change to propose a structured mechanism for evaluating implementation problems with relevant directorates.

Furthermore, KAMİAD has engaged with the Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKİ). After presenting a report titled ‘Problems in Public Construction Tenders: Findings, Effects on the Public, and Solution Proposals,’ the association proposed regular technical work with TOKİ’s tender, implementation, and technical inspection units. TOKİ has responded positively, leading to the formation of a commission within KAMİAD to conduct periodic technical studies with the administration.
