Kamloops Ribfest returns to Riverside Park

The Kamloops Ribfest is scheduled to take place at Riverside Park from August 7 to 9. The event features ribber teams from across Canada competing for awards including best ribs, best sauce, and the people's choice award.

Organizers have noted that the festival attracts thousands of visitors and recommend arriving early to avoid long lines and parking difficulties. The event includes daily entertainment from noon to 9 p.m., family programming with inflatables and activity booths, and various food vendors.

This year, the Kamloops Sports Council has taken over management of the festival from the Kamloops Daybreak Rotary Club. Proceeds from the event and a concurrent 50/50 raffle will support local sports organizations and KidSport Kamloops to help reduce financial barriers for children participating in sports.
