Kamnik hosts 53rd Days of Folk Costumes and Clothing Heritage

The 53rd Days of Folk Costumes and Clothing Heritage festival has commenced in Kamnik, Slovenia. This three-day event celebrates the region's rich cultural history through music, folklore, and traditional crafts.

The opening ceremonies featured performances by the Kamnik City Band and the Veronika Majorettes. Mayor Matej Slapar emphasized the importance of national costumes as expressions of identity and the responsibility of current generations to preserve this heritage.

Saturday's programming included demonstrations of traditional Gorenjska crafts, storytelling, and historical reenactments. Musical highlights included performances by the Saša Avsenik Ensemble and various folk groups. Visitors wearing traditional attire were invited to participate in special festival activities at the main square.
