Kamnik Mayor rejects emergency session on water contamination
In Kamnik, Mayor Matej Slapar has rejected a request from eleven municipal councilors to convene an extraordinary session. The councilors sought to address two primary issues: the planned construction of a new residential district in Mekinje and the recent contamination of the Iverje drinking water source, where a dangerous bacterium was discovered.
Slapar dismissed the request on bureaucratic grounds, stating that the councilors' proposal lacked sufficient documentation and that the issues presented did not demonstrate an urgent need for formal municipal council decision-making or legal effect.
