Kamnik schools host vintage vehicle educational day

The Kamnik Vintage Vehicle Society and Fran Albreht Primary School organized a thematic educational day in Kamnik on September 3, 2026, focused on automotive history and road safety.

Students viewed a collection of vintage cars and motorcycles from periods both before and after 1945. Owners presented the characteristics of their vehicles and discussed how automotive technology and road safety have evolved over the decades. The event aimed to introduce young people to technical heritage and encourage interest in technical and natural science professions.

Activities for students in grades 6 through 9 included a workshop on the development of motoring and a quiz. To demonstrate the effects of impaired driving, participants used simulated “drunk goggles.” Some students were also rewarded with a ride in a legendary Ford Model T. The event included students from Toma Brejca Primary School and local kindergarten children.
