Kamo State releases first feature film ‘StarLomo’ in Nigerian cinemas

Skit maker and actor Akinyoola Ayoola, known as Kamo State, has released his first feature film, ‘StarLomo’, in Nigerian cinemas. Directed by Kayode Kasum, the film marks a career transition for Ayoola, who serves as both a lead actor and producer.

The nationwide cinema release follows a recent premiere in Lagos. The cast includes Mike Afolarin, KieKie, Lateef Adedimeji, Folake Babatunde, and Koyin Sanusi. The project represents an effort to move from short-form online comedy to sustained cinematic storytelling.

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has publicly supported the project by sharing the film’s thriller on social media and urging her followers to watch it in theaters. This endorsement follows earlier speculation regarding her absence from the film’s Lagos premiere, which Kamo State clarified was due to her being out of the country.
